Galway's Land National Park
Galway's Land is one of the most significant bird-watching habitats in the country, as well as being a much-prized wildlife park and dense montane forest ecosystem.
Such ecosystems are found in mountain and hill countries where the climate gets colder as elevations increase and the forest changes to grasslands or tundra.
This Galway’s Land provides an ideal habitat for about 20 very rare migrant and 30 native bird species, as well as an abundance of flowering plants.
It is also home to wild boar, barking deer and other mammals, many of which can be seen from the park’s established walking trails.
