Mini worlds End
One of the most spectacular—and most precarious—views in Sri Lanka can be found at Mini World’s End on the edge of Pitawala Pathana grasslands of the Knuckles Conservation Forest.
Known locally and somewhat irreverently, not to say a tad insuciently, as ‘lovers’ leap’, this eagle’s eirie is a flat rock jutting into space above a yawning chasm atop a vertical cliff face overlooking the surrounding hills.
To be found at the end of a nature trail that winds through the plateau’s scattered trees and shrubs, it is the little brother of the bigger World’s End vantage point found in Horton Plains National Park.
