Parey duwa

The Parey Duwa (Rock in Water) or Parevi Dupatha Buddhist temple, which sits on the amazingly picturesque little Crow Island just off Matara beach, is like something out of a story book. Just getting there is a delight, a walk across a delicately constructed suspension bridge, its wrought-iron towers framing the temple entrance as the waves hiss and crash beneath. Of all the monuments to the Buddhist faith in Sri Lanka, this is one of those that instill the maximum feeling of peace, tranquility and one-ness with nature. A must-see and a must-visit.
