Pitawala Pathana
The smooth, rolling grassland of the Pitawala Pathana in the Knuckles Conservation Forest includes one of the most spectacular viewing spots in Sri Lanka—the Mini World’s End.
Known locally, and somewhat irreverently, as ‘lovers’ leap’, this eagle’s-view vantage point is perched high on a vertical cliff face at the end of a nature trail that winds through the plateau’s scattered trees and shrubs.
Those brave enough can perch on its convenient flat boulder, a natural viewing platform, and dangle their legs above the yawning chasm. Not for the faint-hearted!
Nearby is a natural pool in Ilukkumbura, trekking trails to Meemure through Knuckles mountain range, and many picturesque waterfalls flowing down from the surrounding mountains.
