Sera Ella Falls

The beauty and tranquility of the Sera Ella waterfall and rock pool, set against the background of the Dumbara Jungle, is a must-see for anyone making the trip to Matale. Reputedly a favourite of artists and poets alike, the 30ft (10m) falls are at the confluence of the Puwakpitiya and Thelegam Rivers, which are in turn fed by rivers and streams flowing from the Kaudagammana, Gonamada and Deyuthu Gammmaduwa mountains. The still waters at the foot of the falls create a favorite bathing pool for visitors who have ventured into this natural paradise.
