Dutch Government House

The Dutch Commander's residence or Government House is right opposite the Old Post Office or the Dutch Church. Over the doorway is the date 1683, and the cockerel crest of Galle. I have had breakfast at the hotel about 10 years ago, with its period features, including a grand staircase & high ceilings. But it has been abandoned for many years since then. A nearby hotel is to have bought it but find it hard to open the hotel since the house is believed to be haunted!
