Gregory Lake
This spectacular lake in the center of Nuwara Eliya was built by a former British governor in 1873, and is now a favorite attraction and amenity for residents and visitors alike.
It also provides a landing strip for increasingly popular seaplane taxi and air-born sightseeing services, as well as regular flights between Nuwara Eliya and the capital city of Colombo.
Amenities include swan-boat rides, pony rides, paddle boats and jet skiing, while paved walkways and bike paths run through gardens that feature hedges are trimmed into shapes such as birds and animals.
